Central West Clinical Trials Unit (CTU)
The Central West Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) is based at Orange Health Service. The CTU has a community-led, grassroots approach that aims to fill a significant gap in access to innovative cancer clinical trials in the bush. In the last three years, the CTU has developed rapidly. To date, it has 18 trials currently active and 17 trials in the feasibility stage. For more information click here.
For a number of years Members and friends of the Club have traveled with people from the community in vehicles, some of which are fit for purpose and some which aren't, in a Tag-along trip to various parts of Australia. Each vehicle contributes to the nominated cause and some are sponsored by local businesses.
In 2021, the cruise stayed close to Orange, starting at Hillend then moving on to Wellington, Trangie, Condobolin, West Wyalong, Parkes, Grenfell, Molong and back to Orange. Over $50000 was raised for the Central West Clinical trials Unit.
Past trips have been more adventurous The Trek (cruisin-along.org.au).
