Feast for Farmers @ Heifer Station
Heifer Station Wines in conjunction with Rotary Club of Orange Daybreak (RCOD) partnered to deliver the 2019 and 2021 Feast for Farmers, a not-for-profit long lunch held in The Bull Paddock at Heifer Station Wines. RCOD collected, accounted for and disbursed the funds raised and with the assistance of Givit, a national not-for-profit company connecting those who have with those who need. The local communities willingness to donate time, money and resources is proof that the people of Orange and Cabonne are united in the challenge facing our farmers.
The full acquittal of the >$40000 raised in 2019 is attached in the pdf here. Over 500 vouchers were purchased for grocery, school and clothing items. All vouchers were purchased locally to support businesses and then distributed throughout the Cabonne, Cudal Council area.
"The generosity shown by Orange Rotary Daybreak and GIVIT has been extraordinary for our Preschool. You donated in 15 minutes what would take us over 18 months to fundraise! Our fundraising is essentially coming from donations from local farming families or people who are already doing it tough in this drought. Your kind generosity has meant our Centre now has NEW furniture and NEW resources which we otherwise couldn’t have afforded. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts." - Manildra Preschool
The 2020 Feast For Farmers was postponed due to COVID-19 and was held on 10 April 2021. It was a great success with live auctions and raffles held on the day. Again net proceeds will go to the Rotary Club of Orange Daybreak for distribution among farming communities in need.
